Snowmass Matrix is truly one in a million. He has the premier genetics for high curvature and ultimate fineness and is the finest fleeced, highest curvature Quechua son standing in the world! The consistency of excellence in his progeny is irrefutable. This amazing stud won Reserve Herdsire of the Year for Light and Dark in 2008 at the US Futurity with only 11 entries, AND he won the Dark Herdsire of the Year and Light Reserve Herdsire of the Year again in 2009, and was also the 2009 Futurity Get of Sire Winner.

Matrix is a compact, robust and well proportioned stud, with a perfect overall score in frame, bite, body, and reproductive anatomy. He has a fleece that extends its superior qualities over his entire frame and carries a “Merino x Vicuna” style of crimp. He has more organization in the expression of crimp than a true vicuna but a very high frequency of crimp indicative in the vicuna qualities. Most importantly this stud exhibits an extreme fineness, brightness, and consistency of fineness extending into the extremities (hip, belly, shoulder, neck and head). He has held these qualities as he has aged; exactly what we were looking and breeding for. It wasn’t hard for us to make the ultimate decision to purchase Matrix who at almost 7 years of age still carries a 17 micron fleece with extreme density. As breeders we all know how challenging it is to achieve both fineness and density.
