Judge Jenny Jackson, International Alpaca Odyssey

Jenny Jackson has had a lifetime of involvement in farming and agriculture. She has certificates in wool and cashmere classing. She has been breeding alpacas for 15 years. She has been an accredited Australian Alpaca Judge since 1995 and is a graduate of the International Alpaca Judging School in Peru in 2000.

Since accreditation Jenny has judged at all the major shows throughout Australia including the 2000 and 2002 National Show and has judged and presented workshops internationally in New Zealand, England, South Africa and most recently in Canada

When not out on the Show circuit Jenny manages an alpaca herd of approximately 700 animals with the help of her Veterinarian husband George and their 17 year old daughter Sophie.

Jenny also manages the Alpaca Information Centre, which provides workshops on animal selection and fibre assessment. In recent years has been managing the worlds largest MOET (multiple ovulation embryo transfer) program in alpacas at Banksia Park.

Jenny also breeds stock & quarter horses and competes at the uniquely Australian sport of campdrafting. Prior to alpaca farming Jenny was a registered nurse and midwife.
