IAO Dates, Deadlines and General Information

The next IAO Show will be held March 13 - 16, 2008 at the San Diego County Fairgrounds in Del Mar, California.

We are currently looking for sponsors to help with the expenses of putting on this event. Please consider helping out.

New for 2008 - Banquet Speakers

We are pleased to have two extremely well known and highly qualified people speaking at our Banquet. Wayne C. Jarvis and D. Andrew Merriwether bring a wealth of information about alpaca genetics and breeding strategies to the venue. This promises to be an entertaining and educational presentation.

Also, Dr. Julio Sumar will be giving 2 talks. His first presentation will be on Friday morning prior to the judges meeting. Dr Sumar will talk from the perspective of the judges on what they look for as you enter the ring. His second presentation is yet to be determined, but we are told it will be on what Dr. Sumar is most passionate about right now. He has not given us the details, but there is no doubt it will be interesting and informative. Dr. Sumar will also be available, for a fee ($40), to evaluate your alpacas all through the show, starting on Friday. If you want to know what you are lacking or doing right in your breeding program, please ask the Dr.!

The Alpaca Odyssey is truly an international event. Those that earn ribbons in this event can be proud of the fact that they have some of the world's finest alpacas. If you have a quality alpaca breeding program, and you want to see how it compares on an international level, you will not want to miss this event!
